Категорията непреизказност

The topic of this article is non-evidential verbal forms in present-day Bulgarian and their rendering in Byelorussian. After a discussion of the category and a review of the means of its expression in Byelorussian, the following conclusion is reached. Byelorussian offers a variety of lexical and syntactic ways of rendering this Bulgarian verbal category and they form a functional-semantic field without a nucleus. The role of context and the interplay with modality is also discussed.
