Their most essential distinctive feature is the common meaning which does not correspond to the sum total of the meanings of the components. In the semantics of the whole unit, the nominal part dominates on the lexical level, and the verb on the grammatical level. An attempt is made to differentiate theoretically the verbal-nominal semi phraseological units from the free word-combinations and phraseological units proper.
