The paper discusses phraseological semantic groups across five languages. Most of the groups denote similar wicked or wrong deeds, vices, etc., accounted for by the meaning of the word devil {\textquoteleft}the supreme spirit of evil{\textquoteright}. The thematic groups denoting {\textquoteleft}the intensive manifestation of any feature{\textquoteright}, which are common in phraseology in general, as well as some phraseological exclamations are characterized in this particular case by their negative value. They may either vary or be similar and even identical in imagery and structure. Some similar or identical features are also observed in the explicit expression of emotion. Some of the languages under investigation manifest various ways in which national psychology is reflected in the phraseology.}, author = {Ничева, Кети} } @article {Ничева1978, title = {Към въпроса за семантичното моделиране на фразеологизмите}, journal = {Съпоставително езикознание / Сопоставительное языкознание / Contrastive linguistics}, volume = {3}, year = {1978}, pages = {14{\textendash}23}, abstract = {Аn attempt is made to clarify the nature of the semantic model of phraseological units in sev83 eral languages (the semantic model of phraseological units with a numeral component in particular). Ten semantic models have been established, based on: violation of the system of numerals and of the exact number of somatisms, etc.; the rules of arithmetic (addition, division) and the division of an object into several parts. The semantic model is logically conditioned. Some phraseological units exhibit a vivid expressive markedness conditioned by the lack of logic (the number of the signified objects). Several semantic models with the meaning of {\quotedblbase}to be hungry{\textquotedblleft} and {\quotedblbase}smart in appearance{\textquotedblleft}, are examined; they have similar semantic models in the various languages. The model is illustrated from Kabardian too. The semantic modelling of phraseological units is based on the common logical and associative processes of human thought which underlie the existence of identical and similar semantic models in various languages.}, author = {Ничева, Кети} }
