A solution was found out as regards the basic semantic opposition defined as an opposition of singularity/non-singularity. Some lexical and morphological means for expressing this opposition are analysed across the two languages. Drawing a clear-cut distinction among the means for expressing singularity and non-singularity (general and existential) in natural languages should be of importance not only as a theoretical insight into this particular category, but it can also be efficiently applied to the practical studies of the two languages under discussion.}, author = {Косеска-Тошева, Виолета} } @article {Косеска-Тошева1979, title = {Отново по въпроса за екзистенциалните изречения}, journal = {Съпоставително езикознание / Сопоставительное языкознание / Contrastive linguistics}, volume = {4}, year = {1979}, pages = {11{\textendash}17}, abstract = {Some problems concerning existential sentences in Polish and Bulgarian are discussed. Existential sentences are distinguished from sentences that are generally quantified on a logical basis; thus, the term {\quotedblbase}existential{\textquotedblleft}, when referring to natural languages, is narrowed. The problem of negation of existential sentences and their temporal independence are also treated. The quantitative parameters of съм and има depend on the semantic structure of the predicates.}, author = {Косеска-Тошева, Виолета} }
